Ivory mask of Idia

This piece from the Royal Court of Benin tells the story of a heroic woman. It brought African Art into limelight. It inspired the Festac mask.

Ibeji Dolls

These Yoruba Ibeji Dolls are traditionally used to represent twins.

While exhibiting African art in its  various forms, AHI plans to provide detailed and authentic information about African art works. Budding artists  who visit our museum will have the opportunity to develop their  artistic skills, by learning about the cultural identities and the spiritual values behind African art.  Preservation will ensure the availability of resources for future study.
